This is a UF (ultrafiltration) post-filter cartridge (10”). Unlike a basic sediment filter, it uses a hollow-fiber ultrafiltration membrane (typically rated around 0.01 to 0.1 micron) to physically block bacteria, cysts, rust, and fine turbidity while still allowing beneficial minerals through, without electricity or chemicals. Installed as a late/post stage after sediment and carbon pre-filters, right before water reaches the tap.
